The following are classroom/studio/rehearsal guidelines and are in effect at all times. We are representing our school when we are assembled and our behavior should reflect these guidelines during class work, performances, and other special off-campus events. Also, all WCPSS guidelines will be in effect at all times.
1. The rooms are kept orderly and neat. All backpacks, textbooks, and personal articles must be stored in designated locations as specified by the teacher.
2. All students will be in designated seats/areas and have materials ready immediately following the tardy bell.
3. All written assignments handed in must be on loose-leaf paper, written in standard blue/black ink or typed and printed using a word processor. (Times New Roman FONT 12 pt) These may be emailed to your respective teacher as attachments in Microsoft WORD only.
4. No food or drinks allowed at any time. Water is allowed in an ORIGINAL screw top bottle only.
5. Students will be acknowledged if they have questions and will wait to be called upon.
6. Daily Skills Assessment (DSA) is REQUIRED! In the event of a physical problem or condition, a student will sit in his/her usual seat and participate through active listening and script study.
7. Students may not use the theatre telephone during the regular school day. The theatre phone is available in the afternoon before or after rehearsals if needed.
8. The construction workshop, paint shop and all other equipment are not to be used unless a student is properly supervised and specific permission has been granted.
Adherence to these guidelines will allow every gathering of theatre arts students to result in an efficient, motivating theatrical experience. Violation or failure to adhere to these policies will result in disciplinary action up to and including dismissal from the classroom, parent contact, and referral to the administration. A persistent problem will result in the student’s forfeiture of performing or technical crew privileges.
